MERRILL, Perley, 59, died Jan. 16 in a Bangor hospital after a short illness. He was born in Ludlow, May 16, 1913, the son of Roy and Lucinda (Whitehead) Merrill.
He is survived by his wife Helen of Mattawamkeag; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Thogsen of North Hollywood, Calif., Miss Jeanmarie Merrill of Meridan, Conn.; four sons, Roy Merrill of Meridan, Clyde of Medway, Ronald of Howland and Dalton Merrill of Washington State; three step-daughters, Mrs. Peggy Colson of Meridan, Conn., Mrs. Emily Crocker of East Millinocket, Mrs. Caroly Ireland of Lincoln Center; four step-sons, Arnold Perry of Medway, Willard Perry of East Millinocket, Eugene Perry of Lincoln, Robert Perry of Mattawamkeag; one brother, Henry Merrill of Passadumkeag; 21 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Clay Funeral Home, Lincoln. The Rev. Theodore Wallace will officiate. Spring burial will bein the Howland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime Thursday.
