Death of Mrs. M.P. Larrabee

Mrs. M.P. Larrabee died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 11:30 Thursday evening after an illness extending over a period of several years.

Carrie A. Sutherland was born in McDill, Portage County, Wisconsin fifty-two years ago. She came to Chippewa Falls in 1886 and taught in the public schools of this city until her marriage to M.P. Larrabee on June 6, 1887. They made this their home until six years ago last June when they moved to Minneapolis.

Mr. Larrabee's death occurred on March 29, 1911.

While a resident of this city, Mr. Larrabee made a host of loyal friends who have been near to her thru many months of suffering which she bore with Christian fortitude.

She is survived by one daughter, Helen, and two sons, Walter and Orrin, of this city; two sisters, Mrs. H. McCormack of New Auburn and Miss Rhoda Southerland of Milwaukee; three brothers, Eugene and Frank of Minneapolis, and George of Stevens Point. An Aunt Miss Helen Emerson, of Milwaukee, has been with the deceased since her removal to St. Joseph's hospital two months ago.

The funeral services will be held from the home of Mrs. W.H. Potter on Saturday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock and from the Episcopal Church at 1:45, Rev. George Hirst officiating.

Carrie married Mellen Prentiss Larrabee, son of Moses Whitefield Larrabee Esq. and Elvira Lindsay, 6 June 1887 in Portage, Columbia County, Wisconsin.¹²⁷⁰ (Mellen Prentiss Larrabee was born about February 1854 in Carroll, Penobscot County, Maine,¹²⁷¹ died 29 March 1911 in Chippewa Falls, Chippewa County, Wisconsin ^1272,1273 and was buried after 31 March 1911.) The cause of his death was Bright's disease.
