ALFRED W. HALL
Portland, Nov. 21 - Alfred W. Hall, well known through his connection with the printing business, died Sunday evening at the home of his brother, Willis B. Hall, of Cape Elizabeth. He had been in poor health for the past few years. Mr. Hall was born in Presque Isle in 1851. For years he published the Aroostook Republican, and later was in the publishing business in Chicago. He had lived in Portland for the past 15 years, being connected with the Loring Print.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Atwood of Bangor; three sons, Harold Hall of Auburn, Fred Hall of Princeton, Calif., and Stanley A. Hall of Urbana, Ill.; two brothers, Joseph E. Hall of Caribou, and Willis B. Hall of Cape Elizabeth; and a sister, Mrs. Mae S. Stetson of Concord, N.H., and several grandchildren.
He was a member of the Masonic bodies, including Kora Temple.
DIED - In Portland, November 24, Alfred W. Hall. Funeral services will be held in the home of his son, Harold W. Hall, 50 Shepley Street, Tuesday at 2:30. Private. House will be open for friends to call from 1:00 to 2:00.
Alfred married Mae C. Mathews. The marriage ended in divorce in September 1890. (Mae C. Mathews was born 15 June 1867 in Hampden, Penobscot County, Maine,6518 died 28 October 1919 in Auburn, Androscoggin County, Maine 6519,6520 and was buried 31 October 1919 in Hampden, Penobscot County, Maine at Locust Grove Cemetery 6519.) The cause of her death was heart failure, brought on from being a "drug addict."
