David C. Gilpatrick of South Weymouth, a retired sales representative, died Saturday at Braintree Manor Nursing Home in Braintree. He was 83.
Born in Houlton, Maine, he was raised in Longmeadow and graduated from Springfield Cathedral High School. He moved to South Weymouth in 1950.
Mr. Gilpatrick was a Navy veteran of World War II and served on the USS Brooklyn from 1942-1945.
He worked in sales in the automotive industry with AC Delco and for 30 years with the Dorman Products, Inc.
Mr. Gilpatrick was an active member for many years at Old South Union Church in South Weymouth, and past president of the Automotive Boosters A- 1 of New England. He was an avid golfer and freshwater fisherman.
