Lewiston Womans Death Follows Short Illness -- Was 90 Years of Age

Mrs. Myra H. Walker

Mrs. Myra H. Walker, widow of Alexander L. Walker, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Miss Hattie M. Walker, 422 Main St., Lewiston. She had been ill but a short time.

Mrs. Walker was born in Bradford, March 6, 1847, the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Huntington) Gowen. For a number of years she lived in Auburn, but after her husband's death 20 years ago, she made her home with her daughter.

For many years, Mrs. Walker was one of the most active and interested members of Twin City branch, J.S.S. For this organization, and for other philanthropic groups, she sewed for years, and the results of her handiwork have given her timely help to many a family in time of affliction. It was only a year and a half ago that she was compelled to give up the work which had claimed so great of a share of her interest.

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Walker leaves a son, Irvin E. Walker of Winthrop; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie A. Walker of Lewiston and Mrs. Ida Randall of California and a grandson, Charles E. Walker of Spencerport, N.Y.

She attended the Congregational church.

DIED -- In Lewiston, March 7, Myra H. Walker, aged 90, widow of Alexander Walker. Funeral from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son, Tues. March 9 at 1 p.m. Interment at Litchfield Plains.

Myra married Alexander Laurence Walker 2 February 1868 in Atkinson, Piscataquis County, Maine.⁶⁹⁵² (Alexander Laurence Walker was born 7 September 1842 in Litchfield, Kennebec County, Maine,^6954,6955 died 28 January 1917 in Auburn, Androscoggin County, Maine ^{6954,6956,6957} and was buried 31 January 1917 in Litchfield Plains, Kennebec County, Maine at Litchfield Plains Cemetery ^6954,6957.) The cause of his death was arteriosclerosis.
