ELEANOR I. THOMPSON
CAMDEN -- Eleanor I. Thompson, 71, of Camden, died in Rockport, Sunday Nov. 1, 1981. She was born in Prentiss, May 13, 1910, the daughter of Arthur and Candace (Baldwin) Thompson.
She was a resident of Camden since 1967 and she was a graduate of the Brewster Academy of Wolfboro, N.H. She received her B.S. degree at the University of Maine and received her masters degree from the Teachers College in Columbia, N.Y. She was a registered dietician and an active member of the American Dietician Association, until her retirement from the Veterans Administration Center in Togus, where she was chief of the dietician service. She had formerly worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. and at the Veterans Administration Center in Atlanta, Ga. She was also therapeutic dietician and instructor in New York. She was an instructor in nurse's training schools at Fordham and Metropolitan Hospitals in New York, and she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Society.
She is survived by a brother, Arthur Ray Thompson, Sr. of Lincoln; and two sisters, Mrs. Alyce Alexander of Camden and Mrs. Candace A. Hale of Wolfboro, N.H.; several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Episcapol Church in Camden, with the Rev. Samuel Henderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends prefer, donations may be made to the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League.
