Charles F. Lindsay, aged 76 years, who was visiting his nephew, George Lindsay, of Brockway, died last night. He served in the Mexican War and Rebellion, yet never received a cent of pension and was poor and needy. This seems to be a case in which it might have been granted with propriety. Many have been allowed with little or no merit to back the application.
