Elizabeth Jean Rogers, 94

HARRINGTON - Elizabeth Jean Rogers, 94, of Harrington, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, in Lincoln.

Mrs. Rogers was the daughter of the late Frederick and Eunice (Luce) Leadbetter. She was born in Castine, Maine. She was a homemaker.

Also for a time, she worked as a cashier at Quillens Market in Harrington.

She was a charter member of the Harrington Baptist Church. Elizabeth cherished her family and prayed for them always. She was an avid reader, and loved her favorite book, the Bible. Elizabeth was always active in her service to the Lord, and was a wonderful example to her family, and all who knew her. She loved cooking New England meals for her family. Elizabeth enjoyed the simple things in life, and could always be seen rocking in her chair, on her porch, enjoying all the things the Lord had made. She left a wonderful heritage to her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Franklin Sherer; and six sisters, Mona, Mary, Olive, Norma, Hope and Nellie.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Sharon Rogers - Collins and her husband Frank of Harrington; three sons, Donald Wayne Rogers and his wife Beryl of Warrington, Pa., Erwin Lee Rogers of Harrington, and Dennis Alan Rogers and his wife Pat of Milford; eight grandchildren, Karen Blanchard, Kevin Rogers, Kris Rogers, Nicole Russ, Katelynn Rogers, Rodney Collins, Chad Collins, and Christopher Collins; and 24 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of the Life of Elizabeth was 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at the Harrington Baptist Church, 111 East Liberty Street, Harrington.
