DOROTHY E. BISHOP
BUCKSPORT -- Dorothy E. Bishop, 95, died May 22, 1999, at a Penobscot nursing home. She was born Oct. 15, 1903, in Orland, the daughter of Tracy N. and Geneva (Gross) Eldridge.
She graduated from the East Maine Conference Seminary in Bucksport. She worked for the Maine Harness Association and went around to all the fairs in the state for the Paramutual Association. She was an avid beano player and a member of the Bucksport Senior Citizens.
She is survived by one nephew, Tracy (Buddy) Eldridge of Orland; one niece, Anna Lee Eldridge of East Orland; several grandnieces and grandnephews; several great grandnieces and great grandnephews; many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Chester K. Bishop in 1982 [sic]; one niece, Gloria Bishop, and one nephew, Donald A. Eldridge, both in 1997.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Orland with Father Randy Eldridge officiating. Donations may be made in her memory to Chapel of St. Francis, PO Box 10, Orland 04472 or NBRIC, Activity Fund, Penobscot, 04476. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 14 Elm St., Bucksport.
