Roger Kent Pettit
Service for Roger Kent Pettit, 28, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sherman Funeral Home in Priest River. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Pettit was killed Monday while logging on the east side of Priest Lake. A gust of wind toppled a tree onto the cage of the skidder he was driving.
Born Feb. 25, 1957, in Sandpoint, he graduated from Priest River High School in 1975 and was a self-employed logger.
Mr. Pettit and Melinda Burge were married last November in Coeur d'Alene.
Survivors include his wife, at the Priest Lake home; two sons, Chad and Jantzen Pettit; his parents, Don and June Pettit of Priest Lake; a grandmother, Ellen Linton of Priest River; and three brothers, Rick and Wayne Pettit of Priest River and Don Pettit, Jr. of Priest Lake.
