Evelyn Leadbetter Jones, 80, formerly of Auburn, died Wednesday night at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor following a brief illness.
Born in Litchfield, Oct. 23, 1898, the daughter of Charles and Emily Goodwin Pray, she was educated in Lewiston schools.
She married Elroy Leadbetter and he died in 1932. She then married Ralph Jones and he died in 1957. Mrs. Jones was a member of the St. Michael's Episcopal Church of Auburn.
Survivors include a step-mother, Gladys Pray of Portland; one daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Beverly) Marston of Millbridge; two sisters, Irene Stevens of Massachusetts and Thelma Mayberry of Woolwich; two half brothers, Kenneth Pray of Gray and Donald Pray of North Paris; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
JONES -- at Bangor, January 10, 1979, Evelyn Leadbetter Jones, widow of Ralph Jones. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael Episcopal Church, Pleasant Street, Auburn, Saturday Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. Entombment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery with burial there in the spring. Friends may call at the Plummer & Merrill Funeral Home, 212 Turner Street, Auburn Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
