DR. CHARLES FREDERIC LARRABEE
BAR HARBOR -- Dr. Charles Frederic Larrabee, 86, of Maine and Florida, died April 19, 1998 in Port St. Lucie, Fla., after a long illness.
He was born in Washburn, June 16, 1911, the son of Dr. F.F. Larrabee and Julia Wibby Larrabee. He was educated in Washburn schools, Hebron Academy, University of Maine and Tufts Medical College, Boston, Mass. He started his professional career in 1938 in Bar Harbor and continued his medical practice in Bar Harbor until his retirement in 1969 to Florida. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army as a medical officer in the Eastern Theater of Operations. He was a lifetime member of the Grand Lodge AF & AM, Washburn Lodge No. 193, and was active in various business and medical associations.
Survivors include his niece, Beth Larrabee, and sister-in-law, Doris Larrabee, both of Port St. Lucie; an uncle, John H. Wibby of Yarmouth; an aunt, Mrs. Herbert Raye of Rollingdam, N.B., and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Worth) Larrabee, his daughter, Suzanne Sughrue, and his brother Tom Larrabee. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, April 25, 1998, at Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Interment will be in Prospet Harbor Cemetery, Gouldsboro. Memorial donations may be made to Mount Desert Island Hospital., Wayman Lane, Bar Harbor, 04609.
