SADIE G. OSGOOD
BANGOR -- Sadie (Gillespie) Osgood, 84, wife of the late Charles S. Osgood, died Dec. 26, 1987 at her home.
She was born in Meddybemps, Feb. 27, 1903, the daughter of Charles W. and Ellie (Allen) Gillespie. She was a graduate of Maine Central Institute, class of 1921, and the former Eastern Maine General Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the hospital's Nurses Alumni Association and a nurse at Eastern Maine General Hospital for many years.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ellie O. and William F. Goodspeed of Orland and Punta Gorda, Fla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles R. and Jacqueline Osgood of Hampden and Eben A. and Janice Osgood of Orono; eight grandchildren and spouses, George and Martha Boutwell of Clifton, Tex., Susan G. and Robert Staton of Edgewater, Md., George Goodspeed of Freeport, Charles D. and Diane Osgood of Hampden, Linda Osgood of Hampden, Susan O. and Timothy Miller of Haverhill, Mass., Drs. Kevin and Kathleen Osgood of Buffalo, N.Y., Kenric E. and Sharon Osgood of Chapel Hill, N.C.; seven great grandchildren and spouses, Valerie Boutwell and Duncan Brown of Galveston, Tex., Kimberlee Boutwell of Austin, Texas, Kathleen Staton of Edgewater, Md., Joshua and Jacob Goodspeed of Freeport, Jennifer and Jessica Osgood of Hampden; one brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Mary Gillespie of Corvallis, Ore.; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Gillespie of Meddybemps and Alice Sinclair of Yarmouth; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sadie O. Boutwell in 1946.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1987, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Steven Melamed, minister of the Church of Universal Fellowship of Orono, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Relatives and friends may call at Brookings-Smith, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.
