STEARNS COUNTY PIONEER IS DEAD

ST. CLOUD, Minn., Jan. 29 -- Joseph B. Sartell, founder of the village that bears his name, and one of the best known residents of the county is dead. Two days ago Mr. Sartell celebrated his 87th birthday.

He had been a resident of his county for the last 43 years and is the father of a family that will bear his name with pride and credit. Five sons, Charles, L.L. William L., Fred M. and Frank A. and his widow survive. He leaves 33 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The funeral arrangements have not been fully completed, the relatives waiting for word from L.L. Sartell, who is in the northern part of the state.

Joseph married Lucinda Johnston. (Lucinda Johnston was born about 1833 in New York.)
