Gilbert D. Hamilton

ONARGA -
Gilbert D. Hamilton, 66, of Onarga, who had been a food corporation employee, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday (May 31, 1994) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Onarga Christian Church, the Rev. James Small officiating. Burial will be in Onarga Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the church. Knapp Funeral Home, Onarga, has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hamilton was born Nov. 13, 1927, at Williamsport, Ind., a son of Doyle and Opal Heck Hamilton. He married Doris Lindsay June 25, 1950, at Onarga. She survives.

Other survivors include his father, Bourbonnais; two daughters, Marjorie Johnson, Onarga, and Deborah Schmohe, Buckley; one son, David Hamilton, Marquette Heights; two sisters, Laura Alder, Lake Wales, Fla., and Linda Brandon, Bourbonnais; one brother, Halfred Hamilton, Fresno, Calif.; one stepsister, Evelyn Livengood, Munster, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

His mother preceded him in death.

Mr. Hamilton had been employed by the refining division of Bunge Foods Corp., Bradley.

He was a member of Onarga Christian Church where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. He also was a church deacon.

Mr. Hamilton was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Memorials may be made to the Onarga Christian Church New Building Fund.
