HOLMES, Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant of 27 years
Russell Lowell Holmes Jr., 76, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord January 27, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his son, John "Johnny" Holmes. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverley Holmes; and leaves behind his two daughters, Mary and Vanessa; two sons, Richard and Roger; stepdaughter, Jennifer Mahoney-English; stepson, Jeff Radford; two brothers, two sisters, stepfather, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his four legged companion, Sherlock.
He was a retired License Inspector for Chesterfield County for 25 years. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bliley's - Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, with entombment to follow at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas Johns Cancer Foundation, 1401 Johnston Willis Dr., Richmond, Va. 23235, Attn: John Smith.
