Leonard Aulden Johnson

Memorial service for Leonard Aulden Johnson, 75, Flagler Beach, who passed away July 19, 2007, at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial, will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at Flagler Beach United Methodist Church, 1520 S. Daytona Ave, Flagler Beach.

Mr. Johnson was born December 3, 1931, in Renovo, Pa., to the late Gerald Aulden and Eva Johnson and moved to Flagler Beach in 1954 from South Renovo, Pa. He retired from General Electric in Daytona Beach as a Tool Crib Manager. Mr. Johnson was Flagler County Mosquito Control Commissioner for 12 years. He was a charter member of Flagler Beach United Methodist Church, Charter member of Flagler Beach Volunteer Fire Department, Charter member of the Flagler Beach Ocean Waves Square Dance Group, and a member of the Bunnell Masonic Lodge #200. Mr. Johnson enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty; one daughter, Debra A. Birkett, Harriman, Tenn.; two sons, David A., and Dale A., both of St. Augustine; one sister, Norma Nevins, Corning, N.Y.; three brothers, Neil Johnson, St. Mary's, Pa., Gerald Johnson, South Renovo, Pa., Paul Johnson, Corning; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by one son, Donald A. Johnson.
