Maxine Gorsuch Thompson, 85, Wilmington, Del., died Sunday, July 9, 2000 in Wilmington, Del. following an extended illness.
She was born July 31, 1914 in Altoona, the daughter of I. Paul and Mae (Wilt) Gorsuch. She married Oscar T. Thompson. He died in 1985.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Wilmington.
She was an executive secretary for Wilmington Area Girl Scouts and a math teacher at Springer Junior High School, Wilmington.
Mrs. Thompson was a 1935 graduate of Wilson College. She attended the graduate school at the University of Delaware.
She was a member of the American Association of Union Workers.
Surviving are a daughter, Alice Van Deusen of Concord, Mass., a son, Paul, of Newark, Del.; three sisters, June Slaughter? of Santa Monica, Calif., Nela? Schlesigner of New Athens, Ill.? and Pauline Shellenberger of Palm Harbor, Fla. and three grandchildren.
Arrangements are by the Chandler Funeral Homes and Crematory, Wilmington.
