Betty Gale Albrecht
Betty Gale Albrecht, of Naples and Minneapolis, died December 2, 2006.
Mrs. Albrecht moved to Naples in 1966 from Minneapolis where she had lived all of her life and where she continued to spend her summers. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Martha and Albert Gale; infant brother, Forest; brother, Roger who was killed in the battle of Iwo Jima; and her sister, Marie Gale Bainbridge, a well known and much loved Minneapolis actress.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Henry P. Albrecht; and four children, Gale Sharpe, Martha Lewis, Judge Peter Albrecht and Ann (Dodd) Cosgrove; nine grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Albrecht was educated at the University of Minnesota where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She was active in Minneapolis for many years as a volunteer and auxiliary board member of the Abbott Hospital. She was also on the board of the League of Women Voters, the Big Sisters Organization, a past president of the Edina Woman's Club, a member of the Minneapolis Woman's Club.
In Naples, she was an early member and volunteer of the Crisis Intervention Hot Line and an auxiliary member of the Naples Community Hospital. She was an ardent supporter, volunteer, and former board member of the Friends of Art. She was a Life Member of the Conservancy and a volunteer of the Naples Community Foundation. With her husband, she was the recipient of the Cosgrove Award and active supporter of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. She was also a friend of Alcoholics Anonymous.

A memorial service will be held at the Naples United Church of Christ, 5200 Crayton Rd., at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (TODAY) December 6, 2006.
