Luella Carruthers
Luella M. ("Dollie") Carruthers, 96, of 10 Westview Drive died here on Wednesday.
Born in Melrose, Mass., she lived on Windsor Place, Longmeadow, Mass., for 47 years, and was an active member of the First Church of Christ in Longmeadow. She moved here in 1991. Her husband, Philip B. Carruthers, died in 1992.
She leaves a son, Edwin J. of Kingston, Mass.; two daughters, Nancy Leadbetter Gerrie of Waterville, and Jane Harvey of Kailua, Hawaii; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
There will be a graveside service Thursday morning at the Maine Veterans National Cemetery in Augusta. There are no calling hours, and Redington Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church Memorial Fund, Williams Street, Longmeadow, 01106.
