LEON G. (PARKER) LOVEJOY TAYLOR

LINCOLN and OLD TOWN - Leona G. Taylor, 91, died July 18, 2000, at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 5, 1908 in Lubec, a daughter of Wellington and Margaret (Ogilvie) Parker.

She was a very cherished mother and grandmother to eight children; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Leona lived in Lincoln and Old Town all her life, and for the last eight years, she was a resident of Cummings Health Care Facility in Howland. Leona worked as a seamstress for many years and she also worked at the Lincoln and Old Town Woolen Mills.

She is survived by one son, Gary Lovejoy of Connecitcut; three daughters, Pauline Lowell and her husband, James Crumlish of Penascola, Fla., Bea Lyons and her husband, Herbert of Lincoln, Jean Currier and her husband, Sheldon of Lincoln; two sons-in-law, Kenneth Monroe of Lincoln and Donald Buck of Howland; a very special friend Priscilla Crocker of Howland. She was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Lovejoy; her second husband, Francis Taylor; two sons, Richard Lovejoy and Leonard Lovejoy; two daughters, Eleanor Monroe and Lillian Buck; and a great-granddaughter, Caroll Lowell Wisor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Parish with the Revs. Normand Richard and Andre Houle, OMI celebrants. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Cummings Health Care Facility, Crocker Ave., Howland, 04448. Arrangements by Burmingham Funeral Home, 287 So. Main St., Old Town.

Leona married Walter Richard Lovejoy 29 June 1925 in Maine.⁴²⁶ (Walter Richard Lovejoy was born 6 December 1899 in Lincoln, Penobscot County, Maine,^514,9902 died 13 January 1962 in Lincoln, Penobscot County, Maine ⁹⁹⁰³ and was buried after 13 January 1962 in Lincoln, Penobscot County, Maine at Lincoln Cemetery.)
