CAROLYN C. GRIFFIN

FRANKLIN - Carolyn Charlotte Griffin, 69, died Jan. 18, 1997, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born May 17, 1927, in Howland, the daughter of Harry and Bina (Curtis) Royal. The early years of her life were spent working in the woods with her husband, Sidney. She later worked as a sardine packer for the Stinson Canning Co. Carolyn enjoyed knitting mittens, socks and scarves for the homeless.

She is survived by a son, Sidney S. Griffin, Sr.; and a daughter, Carolyn A. Bright, both of Franklin; a step-son, Michael A. Griffin and wife, Cathy of Bangor; one sister, Helen M. McKenney of Ellsworth; nine grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.

Friends are invited to call 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at the Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, with the Rev. Ross Wyman officiating. Interment will be held at Bayview Cemetery, Franklin. The family suggests that those who desire may make contributions in Carolyn's memory to The Emmaus Center, PO Box 811, Ellsworth 04605.
