CLINTON GIRL WEDS


Mr. and Mrs. Raymond H. Woodworth, the former Madeline J. Kinney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Kinney of Pleasant Street, Clinton, whose marriage took place recently at the home of the bride. Mr. Woodworth is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Woodworth Sr. of South Paris. The bride has taught home economics at Norway High School and is now teacher of home economics at Skowhegan High School. The bridegroom is a graduate of South Paris High School and has been a sophmore at Farmington State Teachers College. Recently he enlisted in the U.S. Air Corps.

OTISFIELD -
On Jan. 29, 2011 Madeline "Jennie" Woodworth of Otisfield passed on after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Jennie was born on Sept. 1, 1926, arriving one-half hour before her twin, Geraldine Kinney, of Casco. The twins were born in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine to Mabel Martin Kinney and Clifton C. Kinney. They attended schools in Sangerville and graduated from Foxcroft Academy. At the Academy Jennie was Vice President of her class and the Class Valedictorian. Her interest in teaching led her to a B.S. degree in Home Economics from Farmington Teachers College in 1949, and then on to a Masters in Home Economics Education in 1956 from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Jennie taught home economics in various schools in Arizona and Maine while raising three sons with her husband Ray, who was stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson. Ray, Jennie and family returned to Maine in 1971, building their home in Otisfield. She was a devoted member of the Casco Village Church, and belonged to numerous community volunteer groups such as the Vendredi Club, the Otisfield Fire Department Guild, and The Casco Village Church Ladies Guild.

She was predeceased by her husband Raymond H. Woodworth Jr., and is survived by her sister Geraldine R. Kinney of Casco, sons Henry C. Woodworth and wife Marybeth Callahan Woodworth of Otisfield; Bryan Woodworth and wife Phyllis Woodworth of Dayton; Allen Woodworth and wife Cindy Woodworth of Gray, and Jimmy and wife Cindy Woodworth of Tucson, Arizona. She was a loving grandmother to Dr. Natalie Woodworth Reed, Kacy Woodworth, Kirsten Woodworth, Raymond Woodworth, Liberty Woodworth and Shane Record, and a specially loved great-grandmother of Julia Reed.

Madeline married Raymond Henry Woodworth Jr., son of Raymond Henry Woodworth and Mary Louise Prentiss, 1 February 1951 in Clinton, Kennebec County, Maine.426 (Raymond Henry Woodworth Jr. was born 14 July 1929 in South Paris, Oxford County, Maine 5810,5811 and died 7 September 2007 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine 5810,5811,5812.) The cause of his death was complications from surgery.
