JOHN HOLMES
KEWANEE -- John E. Holmes, 55, of Kewanee died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Kewanee Hospital.
Born Dec. 20, 1943, in Kewanee to Lowell and Margaret Stotts Holmes, he married Joan Nelson on Oct. 22, 1968, in Kewanee. Surviving are one son, John, and one daughter, Teresa Holmes, both of Kewanee; one stepson, Terry Fredrickson of Sterling; one stepdaughter, Jane Halock of Rockland, Wis.; his stepfather, Robert Ainley of Kewanee; three sisters, Shirley Meier of Bettendorf, Iowa, Mrs. Chuck (Cecila) Basham of Galesburg and Mrs. Ron (Janet) Morris of Neponset; three brothers, Russell of Richmond, Va., Jim of East Peoria and Bill of Suisun, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1998. He was an Army veteran. He worked for Kewanee Corp. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Ron Smith will officiate. Arrangements are by Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home.
