Margaret P. Wittrig
Margaret P. Wittrig, 79, of 130 Thompson Dr. SE, formerly of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 1994, in her home after a short illness. There will be no services. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.
Survivors include her husband, Ray; a sister, Helen Ihrig of Cedar Rapids; and two brothers, Merton Ihrig of Cedar Rapids and Charles Ihrig of Wellman.
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was born Jan. 9, 1915, in Wellman to Charles and Sarah Pond Ihrig and married Ray Wittrig on July 18, 1939, in West Union. She worked in the Cedar Rapids Public Schools as a teacher, principal and primary consultant for 30 years and authored books for the Laidlaw Book Publishing Co. She was a member of the Christian Science Church.
