LEEDS - G. Clinton Smith, 91, died Thursday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Constance Buckley, after a long illness.
Mr. Smith was born in Monmouth on Sept. 23, 1892, the son of Benjamin and Nellie Hutchinson Smith. In 1915, he married Dorothy Frost of Wales. Mrs. Frost died in 1965. Mr. Smith was a farmer for most of his life. Living in Greene for 30 years, he has spent the last three years in Leeds with his daughter.
Survivors include seven sons, Robert of Monmouth, Raymond, Fred and Milton, all of Leeds, Roland of Wayne, Ralph of Kittery and Kenneth of Greene; four daughters, Mrs. Alberta Tapley of Kittery, Mrs. Constance Buckley of Leeds, Mrs. Frances McCabe of Auburn and Mrs. Amber McCabe of Monmouth; three half-brothers, Harry and Wilbur, both of Monmouth, and Lewis of Wales; five half-sisters, Mrs. Irene Bowden of Winthrop, Mrs. Ida Crocker of Livermore, Mrs. Pauline Bragdon of Leeds, Mrs. Ruth Travers of Litchfield and Mrs. Nellie Rolfe of Gardiner; 35 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
