RALEIGH B. BISHOP

WINTHROP --
Raleigh Bradford Bishop, 73, died at his home Friday after a year of failing health. He was born at Leeds, July 30, 1866, the son of Amos B. and Almira (Wheeler) Bishop.

He was a member of Crystal Lodge, IOOF, and Arthur Lovejoy Rebekah Lodge and for 48 years was an employee of the Maine Central Railroad as ticket agent and telegraph operator at the Winthrop station. He was the local operator for the Western Union for six years, retiring two years ago because of health.

In 1890, he was married to Ida Grover, who died in 1907. All of their children survive. They are Claude of New York City, Mrs. Iona Williams of Waterville and Mrs. Lora Mattson of Santa Rosa, Calif.

On Dec. 10, 1916, he married Eva Larrabee who survives. Their children are Raymond W. of Winthrop and Lawrence of the United States Army, stationed at Ft. Preble at Portland. Other survivors are a step-daughter, Mrs. Guy Stetson of Winthrop; a brother, Lawrence W. of Auburn; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Judkins of Portland and Mrs. Gertrude Grover of Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
