HOLLIS J. ALLEN, 60
Hollis J. Allen, 60, died May 26, 2000, after a short illness.
He was a son of Howard and Myrtle Graves Allen of Bangor. He graduated from Bangor High School in 1946 and the University of Maine Law School in 1960.
He was an Army combat photographer and a decorated veteran of the Korean War, where he was assigned to aerial photo reconnaissance for the 8th Army.
He was a photographic specialist with a high security clearance and was an Army staff photographer for the Atomic Energy Commission, extensively photographing 11 atomic explosions in Nevada before his Korean War service.
Mr. Allen practiced law from offices in Monument Square in Portland for 22 years, moving his practice to Yarmouth in 1982. In later years he practiced international law.
Mr. Allen owned and operated Casco Bay Realty since 1965, and was the author of "The Legal Band-Aid," a legal self-help publication distributed in the mid-1980s.
He was a member of the Maine, Cumberland and York County Bar Associations and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. He was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign War, the American Legion and the National Association of Atomic Veterans.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Linda S. Allen of Freeport.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at South Freeport Congregational Church. Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, Yarmouth.
