Catherine E. Kendall
WEST SPRINGFIELD - Catherine E. Kendall, 87, of 416 Lower County Road, Harwichport, a 1921 graduate of Mount Holyoke College, died Thursday in a local nursing home after a long illness.
Born in Worcester, she had been a resident of West Springfield for 35 years before moving to Harwichport in 1971. She was a member of the Mittineague Congregational Church, West Springfield and Pilgrim Congregational Church, Harwichport. She was an honorary member and past president of the Tatham Women's Club and a past president and 50 years member of the Martha Washington Stamp Club.
Her husband, C. Donald Kendall, died in 1952.
She leaves a son, Charles A. Kendall of Wilbraham; a daughter, Nancy E. Bellows of Feeding Hills, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Saturday, September 5, at Mittineague Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston, at the convenience of the family. Curran-Jones Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 57 Suffolk St., Holyoke, 01040, or the Harwich Fire Department, Harwichport.
