Couple Honored on Anniv.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Jordan were honored guests at a surprise 50th anniversary party held recently at the Turner Center Grange Hall and hosted by their children.

Present from the original wedding party were Louise Youland, bridesmaid; Leroy Jordan, best man; and Geraldine Irish, organist.

The couple received a wishing well with many gifts and cards, in addition to a letter of congratulations from Gov. Joseph E. Brennan and a card from President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan. Sally Hinkley made the anniversary cake.

Mr. Jordan and former Rowena McLaughlin were married at Turner Village on August 3, 1934, at the home of her parents. For many years they operated a dairy and poultry farm. Later, he worked as a carpenter out of Local 407, Lewiston, and she was empmloyed at Priscilla Turner Rug Guild. Both are now retired.

The couple has seven children: Larry, Gary, Mrs. Frank (Beverly) Youland, all of Greene; Mrs. Thomas (Shirley) Nabozny, Yuma, Arizona; Wayne, Daniel and Mrs. David (Brenda) Harrington, all of Turner. They also have 20 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING MINUTES

BOSTON POST CANE: Mrs. Leavitt noted that resident Stanley Jordan is now the oldest resident and that Mr. Jeff Timberlake will be organizing the presentation of the Boston Post cane at the Masonic Lodge sometime in the future. It was noted that as many Selectmen as possible should be present once the date has been set, no action.
