Weston P. Carver, Sr.

RICHMOND -- Weston P. Carver, Sr., 77, died Wednesday in Augusta.

He was born in North Leeds, Jan. 18, 1907, the son of Frank and Abbie House Carver. He attended Leeds schools and retired from the tin shop at Bath Iron Works in 1970. He was Past Noble Grand of the Richmond IOOF, a former member of the Enterprise Grange, a past member of the Richmond Sportmen's Association, a past member of the Richmond Volunteer Fire Dept., and an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was the widower of Mabel Hinkley Carver, who died in 1969. He is survived by five sons, John, Weston Jr., Sherwood, Dennis, and Leighton, all of Richmond; two daughters, Margaret Rogers of Boothbay and Shirley Tourtelotte of Richmond; a twin brother, Preston E. of Richmond; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Notice

CARVER -- at Augusta, Aug. 15, 1984, Weston P. Carver, Sr., age 77. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Richmond Memorial Funeral Home, 14 South Pleasant St., Richmond, with Miss Pauline Nute officiating. Burial in Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richmond Area Health Center, Gardiner Street, Richmond 04357.
