Double Wedding Held At Richmond Church
RICHMOND -- A double wedding took place Saturday evening, Feb. 18, at the Baptist parsonage at Richmond, when Miss Margaret Carver and Albert Seigars, both of Richmond, and Miss Madelyn Rittal of Dresden and Roy Shields of Richmond were married. Rev. Jesse J. Starr officiating at the double ring services. Mrs. Seigars wore a beige suit, blue accessories and a corsage of mixed flowers. Mrs. Shields wore a light blue dress with dark blue accessories wih a corsage of mixed flowers.
Among guests attending the wedding were Mrs. John Seigars, mother of Albert Seigars, and Mrs. Jesse Star.
A reception for the newly married couples was held later, attended by 50 relatives and friends. Decorations were in pink and white with a white wedding bell over the gift table. Mis Alberta Day had charge of the guest book, refreshments were served by Mrs. Guy Seigars, assisted by Mrs. John Seigars, Mrs. Weston Carver, Mrs. Charles Dowd, Miss Alberta Day and Miss Rebecca Seigars, and punch was served by Guy, John and Gerald Seigars.
Mrs. Seigars is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Weston Carver.
Mrs. Sheilds is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Rittal of Dresden.

Margaret F. Rogers
Margaret F. Rogers, 68, died Monday, April 24, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Born February 12, 1932 in Richmond, she was the daughter of Weston and Mabel Hinkley Carver. She grew up and attended local schools in Richmond and graduated from Richmond High School in the class of 1949.
For 39 years, Mrs. Rogers worked for Elonic Shoe Factory in Richmond. She was an avid horse racing fan and enjoyed taking rides and traveling. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Herb O. Rogers of Boothbay; three daughters, Sandra Trafton of Milbridge, Brenda Chase of Lee and Pam Peters of Boothbay; one son, John Rogers of Newcastle; one stepson, Billy Rogers of New Vineyard; one sister, Shirley Tourtelotte of Richmond; five brothers, Leighton Carver, Weston Carver, Sherwood Carver, John Carver and Dennis Carver, all of Richmond; eight gandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one aunt, Margaret Carver of Richmond; and one brother-in-law, Larry Rogers of Fresno, California.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aril 27 at 2 p.m. at Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home in Boothbay with Rev. Meg Queior, Pastor of the Dresden-Richmond United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home in Boothbay.
