AVA MILDRED COLE LINSCOTT
SPRINGFIELD -- Ava M. Cole Linscott, 89, wife of the late Earle W. "Brock" Linscott, died February 9, 2003 at a Lincoln hospital.
She was born in Springfield, June 27, 1913, the daughter of Lyndon and Lillian (Downs) Cole. Ava graduated from Springfield Normal School. She taught school in the area for many years. She was very dedicated to her family and treasured them more than anything. She always put everyone else's needs before her own and her strong faith was evident in the way she lived her life. She will be greatly missed by many special friends in the Springfield community.
She is survived by one son, Fernald K. Linscott and his wife "Babe" of Springfield; one daughter, Gloria Kulberg of Hermon; four grandchildren, Thomas Earle Linscott and his wife Karen of Springfield, Lynne Haynes and Al Bard Jr. of Greensboro, NC, Kimberly Ripley and her husband Roland of Portsmouth, NH and Karen Laqualia and her husband John of Bangor; seven great-grandchildren, Angie and Ashley Ava Linscott, Scott, Judith and James Reynolds and Elizabeth and Jonathon Ripley; a niece, Althea Hamlin of Caribou; a nephew, Sheldon Cole of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Tina Cole. In addition to her husband, Earle, she was predeceased by a sister, Glenace Hanscom and a brother, Harland Cole.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2003 at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Priscilla Schumm officiating. Spring interment will be in Cole Cemetery, Springfield. Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the Springfield Cemetery Association. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
