FABIAN D. HOBBS, SR.
KITTERY -- Fabian D. Hobbs, Sr., 67, of 10 Page St., formerly of Millinocket, husband of Mildred M. (Morrow) Hobbs, died Sept. 26, 1985. He was born March 20, 1918, in Springfield, Mass. [sic], a son of Monie E. and Leah (Danforth) Hobbs.
He graduated from Stearns High School, class of 1937. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed as a foreman for Civil Engineer Division of Pease Air Force Base until retiring in 1981. He attended First Baptist Church of Kittery Point. He was a member of the Nollesemic Lodge No. 205, Millinocket; a member of White Rose Chapter No. 54, Royal Arch Masons of Sanford; a member of Maine Council No. 7, Royal and Select Masters of Saco; a member of Bethany Commandery, Knights Templar of Sanford; member of Kora Temple Shrine of Lewiston; a member of York County Shrine Club and a member of the Pease CES Retirees Marching Society.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Monie Hobbs of South Berwick and Fabian D. Hobbs, Jr. of Daphne, Ala.; one brother, Bayliss Hobbs of Nashua, N.H.; two sisters, Fern Gerardy of Marston Hills, Mass., and Norma Meehan of South Portland; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Kittery Point, 11 a.m. Monday. Friends may call at the Franklin G. Wilson Funeral Home, 21 Rogers Road, Kittery 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Masonic services will be held at the funeral home 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
