Motorcyclist loses life in Howland
HOWLAND -- A 20-year old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident early Sunday evening on the Howland West Enfield bridge.
Dead was Thomas Ware Jr. of Passadumkeag, according to the Howland Police Department. Ware died when his motorcycle failed to negotiate the bridge approach and the cyclist hit the bridge abutment.

PASSADUMKEAG -- Thomas A. Ware, Jr., 19, died in Howland, June 3, 1979 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He was born in Lincoln, Aug. 25, 1959, the son of Thomas and Blandine (McCann) Ware, Sr.
He was a graduate of Penobscot Valley High School in the class of 1977, a member of the Passadumkeag Baptist Church.
Besides his parents of Passaduumkeag, he is survived by one brother, Michael; one sister Jane, both of Passadumkeag; his paternal grandmother, Adelia Ware of Passadumkeag; his maternal grandparents Harry and Virginia McCann, great-grandmother, Mrs. Etta McCann, all of Howland.
Funeral servies will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Clay Fnera Home, Lincoln, with the Rev. Gary Kinney officiating. Burial will be in the Gould Ridge Cemetery, Passadumkeag. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
