ARTHUR W. MCLELLAN
TOPSFIELD -- Arthur W. McLellan, 83, died May 17 at Greenville after a long illness. He was born Jan. 23, 1891 at Topsfield, the son of Edward and Esther Ann (Ward) McLellan. He was a retired farmer and was also caretaker of the James Briggs Estate for 45 years at Farrar Lake. For many years he was active in town business, serving as selectman, tax collector and on the school board.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel (Noyes) McLellan of Greenville; one son, Roger; one daughter, Mrs. Vaughn Thornton, both of Greenville; one brother, Peter, one sister, Mrs. Eva Hamilton, both of Bangor; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bartlett Funeral Home, Danforth. Interment will be in the Topsfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening.
