BREWER - Joyce E. (Canwell) Proulx, 69, wife of the late Perley A. Proulx, died Dec. 16, 2009, at her home. She was born in Monmouth, the daughter of G. Clifton and Celia (Kent) Canwell. Joyce worked for Hannaford for 30 years in different locations around the Bangor-Brewer area. She loved lighthouses, long walks, working in her flowerbeds and doing outdoor work. She was an avid sportsman enjoying fishing and camping with her family.
She is survived by five sons and their families, Timothy Proulx and his daughter, Britney, Thomas Proulx and his wife, Vicki and their three children, Jeromy, Justin and Theresa, Terrance Proulx and his wife, Lauri and his daughters, Katie and Kelley, Ted Proulx and his sons, Alex and Jarrad and Tracey Proulx; five sisters, Mary and Winthrop Kenfield, Colleen and Fern DaPonte, Virginia Webb, Doris and Kent Gaibler, and Lorraine Kelley; one brother, Wayne Canwell; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 2002; and two brothers, Alvah and Blaine Canwell.
A service honoring Joyce's life will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where family and friends may visit 2 p.m. until the service begins. Spring burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
