Karl Mowrey Schillinger
DANFORTH -- Karl M. Schillinger, 74, died Sept. 16, 1993, at a Bangor hospital, following a long illness. He was born in Danforth Nov. 20, 1919, the son of A. Lyle and Vera (Mowrey) Schillinger. A lifelong resident of Danforth, he was a graduate of Danforth High School; served for four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II; was a member of the American Legion Post No. 45 of Danforth. For most of his life he operated his own dairy farm at Danforth. For 32 years, he was a rural mail carrier, retiring 12 years ago.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Evelyn (Shaw) Schillinger of Danforth; one son, Dellis "Sam" and his wife Anna Huff of Danforth; two grandchildren; one special aunt, Abby French of Danforth; two nephews, one niece and several cousins.
Friends may call Saturday afternoon and evening at the Bartlett Funeral Home, Danforth, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Vinal Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Danforth Cemetery, at which time the American Legion Honor Guard, will hold services. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make contributions in his memory to the East Grand School Playground Fund, Post Office at Danforth 04424.
