VIRGINIA BEACH-
George T. Lindsey, 74, passed away Dec. 28, 2008, in Chesapeake. Born in Waverly, Va., to the late Theodore T. and Alice H. Lindsey, he was the husband of the late Edith P. Lindsey. He was also preceded in death by a son, George T. Lindsey Jr.; a sister, Mary Alice Black; and brother, James Theodore Lindsey.
George was retired from Ford Motor Company after 44 years of service. He was a Baptist and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Creeds Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad where he was instrumental in the development of the Cardiac Tech-Paramedic Program George enjoyed his family, square dancing, camping, fishing and was an avid hunter.
George is survived by his daughter, Georganna L. Wright and husband Allan of Virginia Beach; two sons, William T. Lindsey and wife Betty, Gene A. Lindsey Sr. and wife Amber, both of Virginia Beach; a sister Anne L. Bonney and husband Floyd of Virginia Beach; daughter-in-law Tracy Lindsey Moseley of Chesapeake; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Creeds Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
