Gladys McManus

POLAND -- Mrs. Gladys E. McManus, 73, died Sunday at CMMC in Lewiston after an illness of two years.

Mrs. McManus was born at K Plantation, Maine on July 21, 1908, the daughter of Ernest and Clarice Simpson Hammond. She received her education in the schools of New Sweden and Caribou. She was married many years ago to Leroy D. McManus. She was a graduate of CMMC as a registered nurses aide.

She is survived by her husband of Poland; one daughter, Barbara E. Vivian, East Rutherford, N.J.; two sons, Kempton B. McManus of Westfield and Wade McManus of Greene; one brother, Linwood Hammond of Indianapolis, Ind.; a half sister, Mrs. Avis Burost of Houlton; three half-brothers, Gordon Hammond of Houlton, Ernest Hammond of Easton and Harold Hammond of Forestville, Conn. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

MCMANUS -- In Lewiston, Maine February 22, 1981, Gladys E. McManus, age 72, wife of Leroy D. McManus of Poland, Maine. Funeral services will be held from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son Wednesday February 25 at 1 p.m. Entombment will be at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, Me. with burial to take place in the spring at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn. Friends may call at the chapel Tuesday 7-9 p.m.

Gladys married Leroy Benjamin McManus. (Leroy Benjamin McManus was born 20 March 1899 in Easton, Aroostook County, Maine,²⁷² died 1 November 1997 in Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine ⁵⁷¹⁶ and was buried 3 November 1997 in Auburn, Androscoggin County, Maine at Gracelawn Memorial Park.)
