Elzior Chateauvert

GREENE -- Elzior Chateauvert, 62, of Greene, died Wednesday at the C.M.G Hospital in Lewiston following a short illness.

He was born in Bolton, Que., Canada, July 19, 1889, the son of J. Henry and Elodie Marchand Chateauvert. He served in World War I with the 26th Division of the 101st Trench Mortar Battery. He married Dorothy Mower of Greene, Feb. 22, 1928.

Employed for the Inter-Urban Railroad and the Central Maine Power Co., Mr. Chateauvert in 1942 joined the Cowan Mill in Lewiston, where he worked until last January. He belonged to Norman Dionne Post, VFW, of Lewiston.

Surviving besides his widow are three sons, Carroll R., Richard S., Conrad W., all of Greene; six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Buckley, Parish, N.Y., Mrs. Dell Farris, Greene, Mrs. Mary Poirier, Sabattus; the Misses Janice R., Glenice F., and Elaine R., all of Greene; three sisters, Mrs. Angelina Sevigny, Mrs. Virginia Pike, and Mrs. Clara Stowe, all of Lewiston.

DIED -- In Lewiston, August 1, 1951, Elzior Chateauvert, age 62. Funeral services from the memorial chapel of Dillingham & Son Friday August 3 at 2 p.m. Cremation at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn. Friends unable to attend the service may call at the chapel Thursday 11:00 to 10:00 p.m. and Friday A.M.

Elzior married Dorothy Laura Mower, daughter of Seward Francis Mower and Laura E. Bishop, 22 February 1928 in Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine.²⁵³ (Dorothy Laura Mower was born 10 May 1911 in Greene, Androscoggin County, Maine,²⁷² died 10 August 2002 in Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine ^7547,7548 and was buried after 10 August 2002 in Greene, Androscoggin County, Maine at Valley Cemetery ⁷⁵⁴⁸.)
