JOHNSONVILLE -- Margaret M. Baldwin, 81, of Bridge Street, Johnsonville, died suddenly following a short illness July 22, 2006 at Samaritan Hospital, Troy.
Born May 2, 1925 in Stephentown, N.Y., daughter of Fred and Ruth Knapp Dickinson and widow of Norman Baldwin who died in 2001. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church Schaghticoke. During her working years, she had always been employed as a clerical secretary for Westvaco Paper Co., Grand Union Co. and the former Leonard Hospital. One of her greatest accomplishments in life was that she was a foster mother to 32 children. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and ceramics. She loved to travel and care for her home.
Survivors include three sons, Patrick F. Baldwin of Cumberland, R.I., Peter Johnston of Defreestville, N.Y. and Paul J. Baldwin of Johnsonville; siblings, Earl Dickinson and Joan Sawyer, both of Schaghticoke and the late Fred Dickinson and Marion Dickinson. Also survived by nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from Holy Trinity Church, Main Street in Schaghticoke with the Rev. George Fleming, pastor officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Chase Funeral Home, 173 Main Street on Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke, N.Y.
