MILLINOCKET -- Stephanie Jeanne Porter, 22, of 18 Rhode Island Ave. died Wednesday at the Children's Hospital, Boston following a long illness.
She was born in Millinocket, the daughter of Douglas W. and Sandra (Osgood) Porter. She was a graduate of Stearns High School in Millinocket, class of 1976. She was also a member of the Millinocket assembly of Rainbow Girls. Miss Porter was employed during the summer months at the Kidney Pond Camps at Baxter State Park.
She is survived by her father, Douglas W. Porter of Millinocket; her mother, Sandra (Osgood) Porter of Bangor; her paternal great grandmother, Mrs. Hazel Trafton of Sherman Mills; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Muriel Porter of Sherman Mills; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Osgood of Mattawamkeag; one aunt, Donna Hennagir of Redmond, Wash.; one uncle, Kenneth Taylor of Mattawamkeag; several cousins.
Funeral services will be held in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Millinocket, Saturday at 10 a.m. Visiting hours at the Wyse Funeral Home, 281 Penobscot Ave., Millinocket, Friday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Expression of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Clinical Research Department, Children's Hospital Boston. Interment in Sherman Mills Cemetery, Sherman.
