Freeport Merchant's Wife Taken by Death
Freeport, Oct. 10 -- Mrs. Mayme Eberhardt Balles, 41, wife of Arthur K. Balles, local merchant, died at 11 a.m. Sunday at her home, 1166 West Lincoln boulevard, following an illness of three years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the home and at 9:30 from the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery here.
Mrs. Balles was born in Sterling, Jan. 15, 1891, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eberhardt. Her marriage to Arthur Balles took place here in 1914.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her parents, residing in Sterling; two daughters, Mary Louise and Theresa Balles, both at home; and the following brothers and sisters; Louis, Alex, and Lucille Eberhardt, and Mrs. L.W. Miller, all of Sterling; Joseph of Chicago; Mrs. T.C. Wooley of Pewaukee, Wis.; Fred of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Frances Eberhardt of Milwaukee, Wis.
