BRYAN J. SPRINGER, SR.
WESTON - Bryan J. Springer, Sr., 74, died Sept. 12 at Enfield, Conn., after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 29, 1903, at Eaton, the son of Herbert and Eliza Jane (Morrison) Springer. He had lived most of his live in Weston. He attended schools at Easton and Danforth and for many years operated a coal and ice business and was a pulpwood contractor and farmer.
He is survived by two sons, Bryan J. Springer, Jr. of Smithfield, Walter Springer, U.S. Navy at Rota, Spain; five daughters, Mrs. Rosalind Spurling of Columbis, Ind., Mrs. Esther Spencer of New Britain, Conn., Mrs. Leona Rollins of Stafford Springs, Conn., Mrs. Daisy Miller of Broadbrook, Conn., and Mrs. Julia Kangas of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Merrill of Falmouth Foreside; 15 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Bartlett Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Eaton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 3 p.m.
