Patrick Lee Schierman
Patrick Lee Schierman of Clarkston, Wash., died of natural causes Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho. He was 57. Pat touched many lives, and he will be remembered for his big heart, generosity and willingness to help anyone in need.
Pat was born July 9, 1952, in Pullman to Larry and Maxine Schierman. He was raised in Moscow and graduated from Moscow High School in 1970. After high school, Pat spent two years in the Army. He was honorably discharged and returned to Moscow to help out with the family business, Schierman's Slurp and Burp. Pat took over management after his mother passed away in 1977, and continued in that position until 1997, when the tavern was sold. Shortly after that, he went to work at WSU and was employed there until poor health forced him to retire in 2003. In 2004, Pat moved to Clarkston to be closer to his son, Derick.
Survivors include his son, Derick Covington Schierman, and Derick's mother, Helen Covington, of Clarkston; his brothers Mike (and Michelle) of Wasilla, Alaska, and Terry (and Mary) of Moscow; and his special friends, Dodee Howell and her son, Zac, of Viola, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dustin.
At Pat's request, no service will be held.
