HAROLD C. TIBBETTS
HERMON - Harold C. Tibbetts, 76, lifelong resident of Hermon, died June 30 at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born in East Newport, Oct. 31, 1897, son of Fred R. and Vinora (Overlock) Tibbetts. He was a well-known self-employed carpenter for many years and a member of the Hermon Baptist Church.
Surviving are six sons, Earl B. of California, Wallace L. of Missouri, Everett C. of Hermon, Ralph G. of California, Roscoe V. of Massachusetts and Paul F. of Massachusetts; five daughters, Mrs. William (Arline) Kelley of Westbrook, Mrs. Leroy (Esther) Bartlett of Hermon, Mrs. Roland (Pearl) Hersom, Jr. of Massachusetts, Mrs. Gladys McPartland of Massachusetts and Mrs. Thurlo (Flora) Lord of California; two sisters, Mrs. Donald Miller of Bradley and Mrs. Jack Fredericks of Maryland; one brother, Roscoe Tibbetts of Michigan, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hermon Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Foss officiating. Friends may call at Brookings Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Friends who wish may contribute in his memory to the Hermon Baptist Church Building Fund, care of the Rev. Kenneth Foss, R.F.D. 2, Carmel.
