Leroy "Peanut" Bartlett
HERMON - Leroy "Peanut" Bartlett, 63, of Main Road, Hermon, died March 28, 1983 at a Bangor hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Hermon, July 9, 1919, the son of Life [sic] E. and Iva Mae (Clark) Bartlett. He was employed by the city of Bangor for 16 years as a fire department mechanic. He was a veteran of World War II; member of Norman N. Dow Post No. 1761, of Bangor; the American Legion Post of Hermon; the Lynde Lodge No. 174 AF & AM, of Hermon; and the I.O.O.F. of Hermon.
Surviving besides his wife, Esther (Tibbetts) Bartlett of Hermon, are two daughters, Mrs. Carolyne Peters of Harwinton, Conn., and Mrs. Sally Thompson of Hermon; six grandchildren, Gerald, Michael, Mary Ann, and Karen Peters, all of Harwinton, Conn., Lorie S. and Dale P. Thompson, both of Hermon.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Clyde Park officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Those who wish may contribute in his memory to the Hermon Volunteer Resque Squad, care of Doris Witham, R.F.D. 2, Box 369, Bangor 04401.
