Miss Jamison Is Married To Officer

Mr. and Mrs. O.O. Jamison, of Boone Hill, announce the marriage of their daughter, Frances Lee, to Paul C. Lindsey, captain, Army of the United States, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lindsey of Waverly.

The wedding took place at the First Methodist Church, New Orleans, La., August 4 at 4:30 o'clock. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. N.H. Melbert.

The bride, who was unattended, wore a powder blue suit with turf tan accessories. Her shoulder corsage was of orchids.

Mrs. Lindsey is a graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Captain Lindsey is also a graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He has recently returned to the United States after serving 20 months in Ecuador and Panama.

Lindsey, Frances Lee (Jamison) Frances Lindsey was born October 17, 1921, in Boones Mill, VA. She passed away March 23, 2009, at age 87.

Frances was a graduate of Virginia Tech, one of only 100 co-eds at that time. She married Paul Lindsey in 1943. During his career with Exxon they lived in Baton Rouge, Houston, Malaysia, Aruba, and California and they traveled the world enjoying their bird watching. Frances is remembered for good food, hospitality, and service to others. Her servant's heart was displayed in many ways, including Duncanville Outreach, Meals on Wheels, the Senior Center, school volunteer work, and to First United Methodist Church. During her later years she especially enjoyed her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Frances is predeceased by her husband of almost 62 years, Paul C. Lindsey, in 2005, her parents, Cora Lee (Dowdy) and Owen Olando Jamison, her son Thomas Owen Lindsey, and grandson Paul C. Lindsey III.

She is survived by her son, P.C. Lindsey II & wife Jane; daughter, Donna Magee & husband Dale; grandchildren, Angela Dikes, Shannon Wyszomierski, Tom Lindsey II, Amy Booth, Chris Lindsey, & Alisha Barker; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Elsie Lavelle; and brother, Owen T. Jamison. Funeral services are 12:30 pm, Thursday, March 26, 2009, at First United Methodist Church, 403 S. Main, in Duncanville. Visitation with the family is 6-8 pm, Wednesday, at Jaynes.

Frances married Paul Carpenter Lindsey, son of Thomas Lindsey and Beata Carpenter, 4 August 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana 1238.,1239 (Paul Carpenter Lindsey was born 3 November 1919 in Virginia,1235,1240 died 14 July 2005 in Duncanville, Dallas County, Texas 1241,1242 and was buried 18 July 2005 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery 1243.) The cause of his death was due to blood clots in the lungs caused by stomach cancer.
