RUSSELL STOCKFORD

WINTHROP --
Russell L. Stockford, 48, died at midnight Thursday at Augusta General Hospital.

Native of this town, he was born Dec. 14, 1915, son of Walter and Annie Lindsay Stockford. For 25 years, he was employed as a statistician by the Maine State Employment and Security Commission. In World War II, he served in the Navy. He was a member of Alfred Maxwell Post, American Legion, and the Congregational Church. He and his wife, the former Leslie Parker, observed their 25th wedding anniversary a few weeks ago.

He is survived by three sons, Parker, serving with the Air Defense in Greece, and Bruce and Keith, both of this town; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Williams, Winthrop, Mrs. Margueritte Kenney, Topsham, and Mrs. Beverly Sylvester, Manchester.

DIED -- in Augusta, July 23, 1964, Russell L. Stockford of Winthrop. Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home, 32 Bowdoin St., where friends may call Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
